On RGUKT's invitation to visit it's 3 campuses(IIITs), our ITCSA has visited the IIIT Basar campus on 15-Aug-2013 and conducted an awareness session on competitive exams in general and about civil services in particular. Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) is offering 6 year programme(after 10th) and in addition to regular curriculum they are also imparting minor subjects like Classical Performing Arts i.e Vocal Music, Kuchipudi dance, Mridangam & Minor elective in Telugu etc. to their students. We spoke and interacted on the following topics     
About RGKUT :
RGUKT is a new technical university established by Government of Andhra Pradesh in the year 2008 with a commitment to provide access of high quality engineering education to highly talented and meritorious rural youth of the state. This university has three campuses located Basara, Adilabad district ( 240 km from Hyderabad airport), Nuzvid, Krishna district (50 km from Vijayawada Airport) and RK valley, Kadapa district ( 220 km from Bengaluru Airport). About 85% of the students of RGUKT are gifted children from rural areas who are deprived of educational opportunities and Govt of AP provides almost everything including education, food and other amenities, free of cost to these students. Presently, Prof. R.V. Raja Kumar is serving RGUKT as its first full-time VC, on lien from IIT, Kharagpur by invitation.   The undergraduate program offered by the RGUKT consists   of a six year integrated course after 10th class examination leading to   a B.Tech. degree in six branches namely Chemical, Civil, Computer   Science, Electronics & Communication, Metallurgical & Materials   Engg and Mechanical  Engineering

2.   What are the qualities expected by UPSC from the aspirants and how to   develop such qualities from the time of under graduation
  3. How a success in UPSC exam will change the life of an aspirant   and how he can change the lives of others..(success stories for   inspiration)
4. General overview of Civil Service Exam - Dates   of exam, No. of applicants, competition level, No. of services and   cadres & their allocation, reservation, attempts, age,   qualification, height, vision etc.
  5. Preliminary exam pattern, syllabus and basic books to read
6.   Mains exam pattern, syllabus and basic books to read (along with a   general introduction to various optional subjects and how to choose   right optional)
  7. what is personality and how to face personality test/Interview(applicable to all types of interviews)
8. Introduction to Group1/2 services and exam pattern, syllabus, qualification, age etc. and basic books to read
          In this programme Shri. K   Shashanka IAS (AIR-16 ; 2013), Nikhil.D  IRPS(2012), Sri Charan IRS Cx(2013), G.C.Raja Ratnam   DTC(NZB), Rajgopal ATO(Hyd),Sadhu Narasimha Reddy IRS cx and Madhusudhan Reddy(Chaiman Prajahita) have participated and guided the students on various aspects of Competitive exams. After getting the feedback from the   participants we are planning to have two more sessions at RK   Valley(Rajiv Knowledge Valley) @Idupulapaya and RGUKT Nuzvid.

sir, I qualified for civils prelims 2013. I registered my father name without surname in preliminary stage. But my ssc certificate has my father name with surname. plz tell me whether I face any problem at certificate verification stage or mains DAF application. if so, plz suggest me to overcome this. thank u sir.
