The Central Government on 10 February approved 2 additional attempts to all the categories of candidates aspiring for UPSC Civil Service Examinations. Aspirants can avail the two more attempts with effect from Civil Services Examination 2014.
With reference to the decision of the Competent Authority conveyed earlier on the website of the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension, the government has now released a clarification note giving a clear picture of the existing position in respect of number of attempts and maximum age limits for various categories of candidates and the changes as approved in number of attempts & age-limits consequent to providing two additional attempts.
According to the clarification note, following changes have been introduced in the number of attempts and maximum age limits:
